My Return to Cardinal Nation

Hey y'all! I'm back in St. Louis and the heart of Cardinal Nation! The sight of Busch Stadium greeting me as I crossed the MIssissippi was a beautiful one. I will be going to Busch Wednesday night for my first baseball game this year.

The Indians had a pretty depressing weekend from what I can tell. I didn't see Friday or Saturday's games and I only saw the end of Sunday's game. I know they won on Friday but it was 6-0 when the bullpen took over. They won 6-5. Saturday they lost after a few comebacks I think. The bullpen blew it again but at least it wasn't a 6 run lead. Sunday was a classic pitcher's duel and the frustrating part Sunday was not the bullpen but instead the offense's inability to drive in runs in a bases loaded no out situation.
I genuinely think they can turn this season around. It is barely May. This team has so much talent and potential. Sometimes I wish I could just tell them they better than this. I watch them and they just look dead. It's only May! They're still in this division race. I have never been a Wedge hater, I think anyone who reads this blog regularly could guess that but recently I have been wondering if he could do anything more.
Good news: Friday and Saturday Grady appeared to be making strides to come out of his slump. Sunday he was 0-4 with 2 strikeouts but so was pretty much everyone else so I am not taking that too seriously.
I am hoping this week gets this team excited to play baseball and allows them to turn it around. I truly believe as long as this team starts believing in themselves they can start to win. However everyone on the team has to start believing in themselves. Every part of the team has to be at the very least passable. I know they can do it. They just need to know they can do it. I personally volunteer myself to go tell them they can do it. Someone tell the Indians organization I am offering my services as a motivational speaker. I'll fly to Toronto right now if I need to. I've never been to Canada.

Carl Pavano pitched a seven-inning gem, giving up only two runs on Friday night against the Tigers. Very encouraging.

I'm so jealous of you getting to go see some baseball on Wednesday. What did make me laugh was seeing you call Pavano's outing encouraging. The guy's a massive train wreck :-) I hope you have a lot of patience bc that guy's gonna cause you some heartache.

Have fun back in the Lou! Hopefully we won't screw it up for you again (like last night -- ugh). Going to the bowling hall of fame? LOL.

I hope you have a great time at the game! So neat that you get to go. I feel the same exact way about the Padres. Both of our teams have a ton of talent, but it's just now working right now. I need to go talk to them or something :)

Kaybee is the angry optimist as I like to call her! If you should get a gig on motivational speaking I'd like a tape of your first speech!

I hope you had fun at the game last night! Busch Stadium sounds so interesting. Don't worry about the Indians. They'll get back on track. I'm hoping that the Padres can do that as well.
